In the heart of South Africa’s informal settlements, families face immense challenges daily. These “communities in transit” are temporary homes for people awaiting better economic prospects or government housing. The lack of necessities like food security, clean water, sanitation, safety, and education threatens their fundamental human rights and dignity.
Our initiative aims to transform these hardships into stories of empowerment and dignity. We believe every individual deserves to live with dignity, even in transition. Our goal is to provide essential skills and resources, fostering economic sustainability and community resilience. We are not advocating for the permanence of informal settlements, but for the fundamental rights of people living in these transitional spaces to live with dignity and hope.

Project Objectives
- Training and Empowerment:
o Train 27 leaders from non-profit organizations in business skills and governance to drive sustainable community development.
o Provide hydroponic systems and training to seven leaders, enabling them to start sustainable farming projects that will supply nutritious food and generate income. - Economic Prospects and Employment:
o Equip these organizations with business acumen through training and consultation, focusing on creating economic opportunities by selling their farming produce, positively impacting 2,100 households.
o Facilitate market access and business development support, ensuring the sustainability and growth of their ventures. - Addressing Basic Needs and Safety:
o Install 12 JoJo water tanks to ensure access to clean water.
o Set up 23 portable toilets to improve sanitation and hygiene.
o Install a solar mast light to enhance safety and allow for community activities in the evening. - Community Engagement and Multiplier Effect:
