The goal is to empower young leaders with essential skills and resources for effective peacebuilding, aiming to bring about positive change and reduce violence within the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project aims to develop<strong> leadership,<\/strong> <strong>advocacy,<\/strong> and <strong>communication skills<\/strong> among the Somali youth. It will <strong>accelerate transformative change<\/strong>, and <strong>promote long term peace and social cohesion<\/strong> in Somalia. In addition, this project forms a critical part in addressing Somalia\u2019s youth engagement gap and fostering a culture of inclusive, sustainable peace.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YALI RLC ALUMNI CHAPTER OF SOMALIA - DAY OF GIVING VIDEO\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WyH8GFk5s40?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">YALI RLC ALUMNI CHAPTER OF SOMALIA PROJECT<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Overall Objective<\/strong>: To empower Somali youth to become leaders and peacebuilders&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Project Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Leadership Training:<\/strong> Equip 1,500 youth with leadership skills and conflict resolution skills.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Community Peace Projects:<\/strong> Implement 25 youth-led initiatives to promote local stability.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Policy Influence:<\/strong> Guide 1000 Youth in understanding policy frameworks related to peacebuilding &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>This project has the potential to transform our community significantly through<\/strong>: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Youth Empowerment:<\/strong> Training youth leaders to drive positive change in their communities to contribute the economic stability of their country.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Gender Inclusivity:<\/strong> Ensuring balanced participation of both male and female youth and others in peace initiatives to enhance social cohesion and promote human rights.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Policy Advocacy:<\/strong> Equipping youth with the skills to influence policies affecting their future and equip them to create compelling advocacy stories to make their voices heard in decision making processes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Community Engagement:<\/strong> Facilitating dialogues and peacebuilding activities that involve the broader community to prevent conflict.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sustainable Development:<\/strong> Securing resources through the YALI RLC Alumni Day of Giving campaign to sustain and scale up the project targets. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Our current opportunity to engage more individuals stems from our past involvement in facilitating the ongoing Peacebuilding-funded project known as the &#8220;Somali Women &amp; Youth Peacebuilding Project for Rights, Governance, Harmony, Trust &amp; Social Cohesion&#8221; in Mogadishu. Our chapter has effectively trained 24 participants, both male and female, in advocacy, leadership, and communication.
